I’m grateful to the Batavia Fire Department and the West Chicago Fire Protection District for inviting me to join their 9/11 memorial ceremonies and honor the lives forever changed on that tragic day.
On September 11, 2001, ordinary people faced an unimaginable momen. So many ran **toward** danger when others were running away. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, first responders, and everyday heroes sacrificed their lives trying to save others.
Twenty-five years later, their courage and sacrifice remain etched in our hearts. We honor the families who lost loved ones and the first responders who gave everything to protect others.
**We will never forget. 🇺🇸**
